About this course

If your institution is considering a major catalog restructure and would like to utilize the expertise of a Watermark Product Consultant, this offering will provide consultation on best practices and methods to complete the catalog and associated curriculum form and workflow revisions needed.

Description:

If your institution is considering a major catalog restructure and would like to utilize the expertise of a Watermark Product Consultant, this offering will provide consultation on best practices and methods to complete the catalog revisions needed and make necessary, related adjustments to Curriculum Management.

This project includes an initial discovery session to review current catalog structure and desired catalog structure, followed by up to 5 consultation sessions that will cover best practices and strategies to implement these changes, with particular emphasis on impact (if any) to Curriculum Management system and processes.

What is defined as a major restructure?

    • Consolidating existing catalogs/handbooks (such as combining an undergraduate and graduate catalog into one)
    • Splitting one catalog into more than one (such as separating professional programs from degree-seeking programs)
    • Significant changes/restructure to academic programs (for example, adding general education to all undergraduate degrees, incorporating outcomes on all degrees, etc.)

If your catalog reorganization changes will not impact Curriculum Management, such as in the below examples, you may consider purchasing the “catalog only restructure” offering. If you are not sure whether your reorganization/restructure will require updates to Curriculum Management, contact us at academy@watermarkinsights.com.

    • Significant addition of content to existing catalog (for example, adding external policy content into existing catalogs)
    • Overall navigation and structure change consultation

What is not included/covered in the major catalog restructure offering, as these are separate projects:

Service Provided: Major Catalog Restructure - Catalog & Curriculum Management includes up to 5 1-hour consultation sessions with a Watermark Product Consultant, up to 15 developer hours for related Curriculum Management changes, and ongoing support during catalog restructure work.

Target Audience: Experienced administrator(s)

Number of Participants: Up to 3 administrators

Participant Requirements: Participants should include primary administrator(s) of both Catalog and Curriculum Management modules with authority to request updates to the system. Administrators should have approximately 30 hours available (within the timeframe of this project) to make all needed changes.

Preparation for Training: It is highly recommended to purchase this offering approximately 2 months prior to rolling over catalog for the new academic year. The ideal timeframe to make catalog structure updates is after catalog rollover but prior to accepting new curriculum revisions via the Curriculum Management system.
