About this course

This course is designed for new (and existing) Student Learning & Licensure (SL&L) by Watermark IT administrators. In order to use SL&L and its reports to the fullest, your institution will provide foundational data from its student information system (SIS) on a regular basis. Foundational data will be collected in several CSV files and later imported into SL&L, resulting in the creation of records for users, courses, course sections, enrollments and student academic details.

At the end of this course, new (and existing) SL&L IT administrators will be able to:

  • Identify the different foundational data files and their respective components
  • Work in concert with the institution's SL&L system administrator to determine which specific foundational data points might be necessary for collection and later reporting
  • Assemble the foundational data files that must be completed prior to the institution's adoption (or for successful continued use) of the system
  • Import completed data files into SL&L
  • Establish a cadence for recurring completion of, and making necessary updates to, the data files
  • Consider establishing an Application Programming Interface (API) for future foundational data file loads

Knowledge checks have been built into this course to help you confirm your knowledge of the different data files.

Please note: If your institution is just getting started in its implementation of SL&L, your product consultant will schedule a formal session to discuss your completion of this course and the foundational data files you have assembled. You may share any draft versions of foundational data files in your Mavenlink project hub. You should have received an email with a direct link to this project management resource from your Watermark Project Manager.

This course will be available to IT administrators in perpetuity. Feel free to revisit any of the content and tutorials provided here as often as needed!
